Community Bridges is an area agency celebrating 35 years of community supports for individuals who experience a disability. Through our Person Centered Thinking approach we support families and individuals to reach their goals by listening to each persons goals for their life with a focus on what is possible not on their disability.

START Services are statewide but based out of our area agency. The START program supports the START Center, a therapeutic, short term residential program for individuals that experience both developmental disability and mental health challenges. Due to growth we are looking for a Clinical Director to support the therapeutic elements of the statewide clinical program and the START Center.

  • Ph.D. in psychology and licensed or Master’s degree in mental health, psychology or social work and licensed by the NH Board of Mental Health Practice.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ clinical experience working with the IDD/MI population
  • To be successful in this role you will need extensive experience in intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), specifically with people who have IDD and behavioral health needs.
  • Experience developing and implementing positive behavior support plans preferred.
  • Must be a certified coordinator or have the ability to complete the START coordinator certification process within 6-12 months of hiring.
  • Provide oversight and consultation on positive behavior and interaction supports, therapeutic goals, and other written documents
  • Review START related documentation and provide clinical input.
  • Provide training and consultation to staff, families and providers including ongoing organization and conducting of Clinical Education Teams.
  • Assist START coordinators with preparation for START coordinator certification.
  • Participate in recurring team meetings as necessary.
  • Develop positive behavior support and interaction plans as necessary for guests at the resource center who require more extensive safety measures.
  • Participate in triage of resource center admissions.
  • Provide on-site consultation as needed for guests receiving center-based supports.
  • Training of mental health clinicians on IDD/MH. Provide consult to START Coordinators.
  • Maintain fidelity to the START model in all areas of work.
  • Close collaboration with the Center Director and the NH START Statewide Director.
