Executive Director

New Generation

New Generation, Inc.
New Generation is a non-profit organization serving homeless pregnant and newly parenting women and their children. New Generation was founded in 1987, to provide a caring, family-oriented shelter to empower homeless women to better care for themselves and their children. New Generation provides group housing for up to 7 women and their children, as well as 2 transitional apartments.


 Overview
To provide oversight to the shelter, its programs and the thrift shoppe of New Generation, Inc., in order to carry out the mission in the most effective way possible, while also operating in the most fiscally responsible manner.  To ensure that our residents are receiving the best programs and care possible and that access to external resources are available.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (Master’s Degree preferred)
• 3-5 years’ of management experience
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills   
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects
• Effective delegating skills
• Valid driver’s license and car insurance required
• CPR/First Aid Certification within 90 days of employment 

 Preferred Qualifications:
• Fund raising and fund development experience
• Experience with homelessness, poverty, and families

Responsibilities:

• Partner with the Board of Directors and provide information to allow for appropriate decision making
• Oversee a base operational staff comprised of a Case Manager, Development Administrator, Controller, Parenting Educator/ Aftercare Coordinator, Office/Volunteer Coordinator,     Resident Support Staff, and thrift shoppe employees
• Responsible for oversight of all New Generation, Inc. operations, human resources management, management of property, financial management, program development and evaluation, case management, retail management, development, and volunteer program.
• Execute the strategic plan in partnership with the Board of Directors
• Execute the development plan in partnership with the Board of Directors and Development Administrator
• Responsible for grant writing
• Partner with businesses, foundations and other non-profits in the community
• Responsible for hiring, training, and managing all staff
• Responsible for ensuring 24/7 coverage at the shelter
• Hold monthly staff meetings with all direct service staff
• Additional duties as assigned by the Board of Directors
