Bookeeper

Parent Information Center

The Parent Information Center (PIC) located in Concord NH, supports families of children with disabilities and school district personnel build and strengthen family-school partnerships in special education. PIC provides information about educational laws, regulations and best practices to support parents and others to participate effectively as team members in the special education process.


A small, non-profit membership organization in Concord, NH seeks a part-time Bookkeeper (20 – 25 hours per week) with non-profit experience. We are looking for an independent thinker and multi-tasker with who has demonstrated experience with QuickBooks and Excel.  

Requirements:

Minimum qualifications: Non-profit experience. AS/BS Accounting/Finance or equivalent experience. Strong Knowledge of GAAP and advanced spreadsheet skills. Strong leadership, teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities including A/R, A/P, year-end accruals, year-end deferrals, reporting and cash reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly closing and bank reconciliations.
  • Reconcile all general ledger accounts on a monthly basis, including payroll tax and benefit withholdings.
  • Review all aging reports and following up with collections.
  • Distribute monthly reports on all grants and related programs and distribute to the Executive Director and appropriate Project Directors for review.
  • Prepare monthly reports for payment requests on all grant and related programs and request funds from federal, state and other agencies.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports for the PIC Board and work with the Board Treasurer and the Executive Director regarding financial reporting.
  • Close out the fiscal year and perform all related functions for the annual audit.
  • Assist the Executive Director to assure compliance with the requirements of laws, regulations, contracts and grant agreements, GAAP.  Ensure compliance with the OMB and other federal and state laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that internal controls .and check and balances in the Financial Policies and Procedures manual are implemented and followed.
  • Prepare various schedules and gather additional information for the external auditor for the fiscal year-end annual audit.
  • At calendar year-end, generate Form 1099s and mail to recipients and to the IRS.
  • Perform other accounting responsibilities, as identified.
