Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center

Prescott Farm is a nonprofit organization dedicated to environmental education and preservation. We provide year-round environmental education programs for all ages and a place in the Lakes Region community that encourages curiosity, discovery, fun and connection to the natural world.

Founded in 1997 as Prescott Conservancy, Inc. d/b/a Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center, Prescott Farm has helped awaken appreciation for nature and concern for the environment in thousands of program participants. We offer a wide range of programs designed to preserve and pass down knowledge and skills that encourage an understanding of the natural systems that sustain us all and respect for the environment.

During the summer and school vacation weeks, our environmentally-themed WildQuest Camps have offered children ages 6-12 the opportunity to explore, learn, and grow in nature for over 15 years.

Since 2015 our nature-based preschool, Fledglings Preschool at Prescott Farm, has offered children ages 3 to 5 the educational foundation they need to succeed in school while awakening in each child a natural curiosity and respect for nature which is at the core of every preschool lesson.

Our Naturalist in the Classroom program supports teachers in local schools to provide place-based, hands-on lessons that incorporate the natural world to satisfy curriculum requirements and help keep children engaged and excited about learning throughout the school year.

Unplug, relax, and connect with nature! Prescott Farm is designated as an official NH Wildlife Viewing area with 160 acres of conservation lands open to the public year-round. Visitors can play in our natural Playscape, learn about native plant and wildlife species, and explore at their own pace in our heritage gardens and along more than three miles of woodland, pond and field trails with views of Lake Winnipesaukee and the Belknap Mountains.

Prescott Farm Environmental Education Center seeks a Communications Manager to build public awareness of PFEEC’s programs and initiatives, provide clear and consistent targeted messaging that builds upon Prescott Farm’s reputation as a local leader in experiential education, facilitate communications with all constituents on an ongoing basis, evaluate the success of marketing and communications strategies employed by PFEEC modifying as necessary, and advance PFEEC’s goal of engaging the support and enthusiasm of the Lakes Region Community.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related field.  Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, marketing, and/or public relations with experience working as part of a development team in the nonprofit sector preferred.
  • Proficient in all MS Office Products Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
  • Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize projects and assignments, maintain a positive attitude, and produce professional results under deadlines.
  • Demonstrated experience producing quality marketing and PR communications and using websites and social media for communications
  • Possession of valid state driver’s license.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Knowledge of or interest in nature, gardening, farming, outdoor recreation, natural history, or science preferred.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of marketing and public relations strategies designed to build appreciation and support of PFEEC’s initiatives, programs, services and activities.
  • Identifies and evaluates target markets for all PFEEC programs, establishing a comprehensive communications plan to grow and sustain Prescott Farm’s various programs. 
  • Collaborates with Advertising and Events Manager to establish consistent messaging, design marketing materials and establish a marketing plan for all PFEEC programs.
  • Establishes and maintains procedures and formats for marketing and public relations materials and activities. Continuously developing knowledge of best practices to market PFEEC’s initiatives, programs, services and activities.
  • Assists with research, design and implementation of a fundraising and development plan.
  • Collaborates with all staff to implement existing strategic plan.
  • Coordinates public relations activities to increase the visibility of PFEEC maintaining good public relations with local media contacts, constituents, and community leaders.
  • Collaborates with Advertising and Events Manager to develop, update and maintain marketing & event budgets.
  • Other duties as assigned.
