On-Call Advocate

Monadnock Center For Violence Prevention

Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention (MCVP) is the domestic and sexual violence and stalking crisis center for the 44 towns of the Monadnock region. MCVP is a member program of the NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence and a Monadnock United Way agency.

MCVP’s mission is to respond to domestic & sexual violence & stalking in our community by providing a care & support system for survivors and to work to end interpersonal violence in all forms through primary prevention, community engagement & collaboration.

 


​MCVP: Crisis & Prevention Center is hiring Per Diem advocates to work over-nights, weekends and Holidays providing coverage on our 24-hour crisis line and:

  • Provide direct services to victims of domestic and sexual violence and stalking
  • Complete victim contact logs in accordance with NHCADSV Program Standards and agency protocol.
  • Conduct shelter intakes after hours, as needed.
  • Respond to hospital calls, shelter emergencies and police departments after hours as needed.

 

Per diem pay of $30-$50 per shift. On-Call shifts are 16-24 hours. $300 reimbursement for 40 hour training upon successful completion and one month of a minimum of four bona fide on-call shifts worked. 

Requirements:

Qualified applicants  be available to respond to phone calls, area hospitals, and local police departments in the Monadnock Region, although most calls may be handled from your home. 

Education:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma; undergraduate degree, or equivalent experience in a related field preferred
  • 35 hours of training in accordance with NH RSA 173C

     Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Crisis intervention and advocacy skills

     Knowledge:

  • Understanding of issues related to domestic and sexual violence, and stalking
  • Knowledge of local community resources

Other:

  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Insurance Coverage (vehicle)
  • Criminal Background and DMV Check
