Roving Advocate

Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention

Monadnock Center for Violence Prevention (MCVP) is the domestic and sexual violence and stalking crisis center for the 44 towns of the Monadnock region. MCVP is a member program of the NH Coalition Against Domestic and Sexual Violence and a Monadnock United Way agency.

MCVP’s mission is to respond to domestic & sexual violence & stalking in our community by providing a care & support system for survivors and to work to end interpersonal violence in all forms through primary prevention, community engagement & collaboration.

 


MCVP: Crisis & Prevention Center is looking for motivated, compassionate, team oriented individual w/excellent verbal/written communication skills and the ability to work independently in our Jaffrey/Peterborough office to:​

  • Providing direct services to victims of domestic and sexual violence and stalking to include systems advocacy primarily in the Jaffrey and Peterborough offices. 
  • Completing victim contact logs in accordance with NHCADSV Program Standards and agency protocol.
  • Providing advocacy on the 24-hour crisis line beyond regular office hours as scheduled.
  • Organizing, updating and maintaining reference and resource files in Jaffrey/Peterborough offices.
  • Maintaining an active referral network with professionals, businesses and social service agencies to assist victims. 
  • Conducting community outreach in the greater Jaffrey/Peterborough area.

 

This is a full time position with an annual salary of $32,000 and excellent benefits including medical and dental insurance.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree, or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 35 hours of training in accordance with NH RSA 173C

     Skills:

  • Crisis intervention and advocacy skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized
  • Strong attention to detail

     Knowledge:

  • Understanding of issues related to domestic violence, sexual violence, and stalking
  • Knowledge of local community resources
  • Adequate computer facility, including word processing and Outlook

Other:

  • Reliable transportation
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Insurance Coverage (vehicle)
  • Criminal Background and DMV Check
