The nonprofit Capitol Center for the Arts is the largest and most eclectic performing arts center in central New Hampshire. We are a national-caliber live entertainment venue. We bring the excitement of high quality theater, music, dance, comedy and opera to the Capital region. Not only are we a hub for the community, but fans travel from all over New England to attend performances here.

The Capitol Center for the Arts currently has openings for part time house managers to lead the wonderful group of volunteers that give their time to the CCA.

Requirements:

Job requirements:

  • Available to work at least 4 shows per month
  • Ability to manage up to 40 volunteer ushers per show
  • Flexible professional personality with attention to detail and good observation skills.
  • Ability to monitor and handle patron and usher issues with a calm yet authoritative manner
  • A team player working with staff and patrons
  • Ability to climb stairs repeatedly
Responsibilities:
  • Inspection of building areas for proper egress of all exits as well as restocking and turning lights on and off
  • Signing in and out of volunteer ushers
  • Meeting with and assigning volunteer ushers to their positions
  • Managing seating issues with patrons and ushers
  • Working with staff to solve any patron issues during a show
  • Some training of ushers
