Membership Coordinator

Tree Care Industry Association

The TCIA develops safety and education programs, standards of tree care practice and management information for tree and landscape firms around the world. We provide continuing education, training, conferences and publications to promote the safe and appropriate practice of tree care. TCIA helps member companies by:
• Educating consumers about the proper care of trees
• Advancing professionalism in the tree care industry
• Improving business practices in the tree care industry
• Training employees in safe work practices
• Educating policy makers on regulatory and legislative affairs

The Membership Coordinator is an integral part of the team for support of member recruitment and retention efforts, as well as implementation and refinement of our member services.  This position reports to the Director of Membership.

Primary Job Responsibilities
• Manage the membership database content as required and maintain its integrity
• Prepares distribution lists for multiple departments by distribution targets
• Prepares reports and requests/designs new reports
• Project manager for membership projects
• Works with Marketing on member communications
• Investigates new member benefits
• Works with the accounting department to monitor monthly membership invoices and reminder notices and any related functions   
• Support TCIA’s strategic goals and assist the Director of Membership in carrying out those goals
• Review and update pertinent information on the TCIA web site and in print format.
• Assists the Director of Membership with development of budgets and plans.

Requirements:

Experience, attributes and requirements:
• Positive attitude
• Proven experience as a "team player"
• Strong Microsoft Office skills
• Functional knowledge of, and experience with SQL database data entry and data management, association or iMIS database experience are both pluses
• Strong electronic record creation and retention skills
• General sales skills
• Strong oral and written communication, evaluation, and analysis skills
• Strong customer service skills
• Proactive telephone skills
• Project management skills
• Ability to work effectively on multiple projects and ability to multi-task
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to travel for work-related meetings and training.
