Peer Support Specialist

West Central is looking to hire a Peer Support Specialist for our Claremont Adult ACT Team. West Central Behavioral Health is the nonprofit community mental health care provider who has been proving service to Sullivan County and the Upper Valley for the last 40 years.  As a Peer Support Specialist, you will be part of a close knit team and most of your work will be in the community working with clients. 

 

This position may require periodic weekend work.

Requirements:

•Bachelor's degree preferred
•Valid driver's license
•Case management and community mental health experience preferred
• Attend the NH Peer Support Group monthly    

Responsibilities:

•Educate staff about the Peer perspective both individually and in groups
•Teach and assist participants through their recovery by using your own recovery
•Collaborate with other mental health center staff to facilitate participant’s goal attainment
•Utilize specific interventions designed to assist participants in meeting his/her recovery goals
•Support recovering clients focusing on developing educational and social opportunities.
•Educate and inform consumers, families and staff regarding recovery issues
•Represents Agency consumers in policy and planning meetings
