Executive Director

Special Needs Support Center

A full or part time Executive Director is sought for the Special Needs Support Center (SNSC), a private, nonprofit organization. Since 1979 SNSC has served children and adults with disabilities and their families in the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont. The mission of SNSC is to help children and adults with special needs, and their families, meet their unique challenges through advocacy and program support. Children and families served by SNSC have greater independence, and are more empowered within their communities.

A range of enduring and successful family support, educational advocacy, and child and adult programs reflect this mission.  A team of paid and volunteer staff, and engaged Board and community alliances provide the support for SNSC's mission. 

A strong and enthusiastic candidate who is dedicated to and can communicate the mission of SNSC to families and the larger community is sought.
 
Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in special education, social work, human services or related medical field and experience in working effectively with families, schools and community resources.
  • Knowledge of disability related issues, education resources, and special education and disability law
  • Ability to support, supervise and evaluate staff.
  • Ability to problem solve, build a team, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with grant writing, fund raising and budget management.
