White Birch Community Center

White Birch Center is a private, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that has been enriching life and strengthening community for over 40 years.  Our mission is to be a community leader in providing exceptional programs and services that support learning and active living for children, adults, and families.

With an emphasis on Early Learning, Extended Education, and Active Living, White Birch Center is a cornerstone of our community and a hub for surrounding towns.

We are the largest nonprofit agency and licensed child care facility operating in Henniker.  We serve families with children ages 12 months through 14 years of age, and senior adults. Last year, more than 150 families enrolled in our programs for child care, preschool, enrichment activities, and vacation & summer camps. More than 300 seniors participated in a wide variety of programs and activities aimed at promoting wellness, healthy aging, and community engagement.

Job Description
Progressive early education center in Henniker is looking for Associate Teachers to add to our positive, fun, and supportive team! Some duties include but are not limited to:
• Observes all rules and regulations at White Birch Center and the local, state or national regulatory agencies pertaining to the health, safety and care of children.
• Assesses each child's developmental needs on an ongoing basis.
• Implements the approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule in accordance with the White Birch Center’s curriculum and programming.
• Maintains an attractive, well-kept classroom that encourages children to create, explore and make decisions with confidence.


Applicant should be able to work with children all ages, but more specifically ages 3 to 5 years old. The ideal person must be kind, patient, dependable, responsible, and should have experience working with children. Must also have an Early Childhood/Education Degree or credits in a related field. CPR and First Aid certifications desired.

Required education:
• High school or equivalent
Required experience:
• Teaching: 1 year
